Handed out during winter prep season in October and November, the Winter Kit gives drivers cold-weather basics to keep in the trunk. An ice-scraper mitt lets them clear frost with a gloved hand, and a snow brush with ice scraper takes care of the roof, hood and windows after a storm. Disposable hand warmers and an emergency mylar blanket belong in any roadside bag for a breakdown or a long wait for a tow, and a tactical LED zoom flashlight helps with a flat tire or a dropped item in the dark. Dealers can give it out at winter tire changeovers and battery checks, and it also suits insurance agents, towing companies and auto clubs. Put your roadside or service number on the brush.
