When a plant, jobsite or warehouse reaches a days-without-injury goal, Injury-Free Milestone gives everyone on the shift the same recognition. A custom enamel lapel pin marks the achievement with the milestone and the year; issue a new design at each milestone so long-serving crew members build a set on their jackets, caps or lanyards. An adult quick-dry tee printed with the milestone becomes the crew's shirt for the celebration lunch and team photo, and a 20 oz vacuum insulated coffee tumbler brings the recognition along on every shift. A printed card from the plant manager or safety director thanks the crew in writing. Hand it out at a shift meeting or a site-wide cookout, and include contractors who worked the same stretch.
